Cleaning Company – Master Cleaning Now will tell you how to attract children to clean
All those who have small children know that cleaning is significantly complicated by the lack of free time and children’s moods, and its number, on the contrary, increases with the completion of the family.
Often, mothers try to remake all household chores in a relaxed atmosphere while the baby is sleeping, but by doing so deprive themselves of rest and time devoted to themselves. In order not to fizzle out physically and not to burn out emotionally, we suggest you connect the children to the cleaning: not only will this free you time, but it will allow you to spend more time with your son or daughter and better prepare your child for the future life.
When to start?
For too long, it seems to parents that the baby has not yet reached a level of serious help: at least he will not do the cleaning well, and he may also break the plate that you instructed him to wipe after washing. However, they are already beginning to demand help from the student. It is not surprising that he resists: playing on the console or walking with friends is much more interesting than doing the laundry. That is why it is important that a child learns from an early age: he is as much a member of the family as the others, and he has his own duties at home.
Already in three years, the baby can be instructed to wipe the dust or clean the floor. Most likely, you will have to walk with a rag yourself after that, since you cannot expect good quality cleaning from the little one. But it’s worth it: the child will get used to the work and will improve with age.
What can help preschooler and younger student?
- Remove toys and books in own room
- Put dirty clothes in the bathroom basket or sort the laundry by color.
- Putclothes in the closet
- To water flowers
- Remove the bed
- Sweep up
- Wipe dust on accessible surfaces.
- Wipe dust in interesting places (legs of chairs, door handles)
- Wash the floor
- Vacuuming (depends on physical fitness)
- Do not wash heavy dishes
- Wipe dishes after washing
- Place dry dishes in places or disassemble the dishwasher
- Feed and clean up pets
- Help in cooking (read more about this: “Children in the kitchen: how to save and what to do”)
- Serve the table or clean dirty dishes
- Perform minor assignments (bring or carry something)
The older the child, the more cases can be attributed to this list: take out the garbage, and go for groceries, and even make a full bathroom cleaning.
What to do with motivation
Of course, all this is worth doing side by side with the child, because his main motivation is to spend time with you. Even if the child cleans up in his room, and you are in the corridor – he feels that you are a team and you have a joint occupation.
To support the motivation of the child, give him first interesting and simple tasks. Let them better be different, but of small volume. And be sure to praise him after completing each task or stage, say how valuable this help is.
If a child needs to redo something or fix it, do not rush to do it immediately after he finished. If the kid decides that he has failed, there will be no trace of the motivation. Gently help your child with advice or an example to improve the quality of work on their own or wait for him to be distracted by another matter.
The motivation can be a choice, because a child will quickly develop favorite and unloved things. However, the choice should not be “cleaned or not cleaned”, but, for example, “what do you want more: wash the dishes or wipe the dust?”. If you have several children, write tasks on the cards, have the children take turns choosing one by one, making their own cleaning plan for the day.
Of course, not everything will be so smooth: children will often be stubborn and fight with you. Use different methods from your educational arsenal: from an authoritative request to a ban on desired pleasures. However, avoid giving pocket money for cleaning, otherwise you will hardly ever see a child’s sincere participation and pride in contributing to the family business.
How to make joint cleaning more fun
If the cleaning will take place in a sullen and oppressive atmosphere, no one will like it. Combine business with pleasure: put your favorite songs and sing along; play word games, even shouting from different rooms; Compete, who will quickly assemble the toys in their half and so on. So you can create pleasant associations for your child with useful things and just have a good time.
And most importantly – let the children try new things, change their responsibilities, engage in non-standard tasks in which they can learn something.
